Preschool Story Hour is held regularly to promote a love of reading and to expand your child’s vocabulary. Activities and snacks are included. All children ages 3 to 6 are welcome!

Book Nibblers

Book Nibblers is for infants and toddlers up to age 3. Help your young one develop the pre-language skills they’ll need before they start preschool! Start reading, rhyming and singing with your little one this week!

Book Nibblers is held at the library on Tuesdays at 9:45 a.m. and the first Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m.

Reading Pups

Schedule a session to have your child practice reading skills with a Reading Therapy Dog!

Their library reading pal will be Sam, a Black Russian Terrier owned and handled by Sherry Springer of Maryville. Sam is a card-carrying member of the Tail Waggin’ Tutors Program, administered by Therapy Dogs International (TDI). Sam is a therapy dog, registered through TDI.

10-15 minute sessions are available by appointment for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old on Thursdays between 4:10 and 5:30 p.m.

Summer Reading Program

The library’s annual Summer Reading Program allows local youth to earn prizes based on the amount of reading they complete during summer months. Sign-up is usually held at the beginning of June. The program includes a number of special events at the library. Keep checking the library’s homepage for upcoming events.
